Mixed Herbs combo growing instructions

If you've purchased one of our mixed herb combos, find all your growing instructions for each herb here: 

 

Basil (sweet):

  • Plant in full sun
  • Water plants during dry weather but let the soil dry out between waterings
  • Pick off flowers as they develop to stop it going to seed and promote foliage growth

 Coriander:

  • Plant in sun or semi-shade in a deep pot or free-draining soil
  • Keep moist in hot weather
  • Water in the morning to allow the sun to dry the plant off during the day
  • Pick it quickly to stop it going to seed

Chives

  • Plant chives 10cm deep, 5cm apart
  • Grow in a corner or spot of soil that you don't usually garden in (they will go dormant and can be accidentally planted over if they're not visible
  • Keep the soil moist

Mint:

  • Apply a general fertiliser to the garden before planting
  • Use a good quality potting mix if growing in pots
  • Keep the soil moist

Oregano:

  • Plant in full sun
  • Plant in light, well-drained soil
  • Water when soil is dry to the touch

Russian tarragon:

  • Grows to a height of 80cm
  • Plant 45cm apart

Sage:

  • Plant in full sun
  • Plant in light, well-drained soil
  • Water when soil is dry to the touch

Parsley

Plant in sunny, well-drained soil

Rocket

  • Plant a little, often
  • Harvest the leaves while it is still young to prevent it becoming too spicy

Thyme (Creeping)

Plant in a sunny, well-drained position
