Acacia dealbata is an evergreen tree grown for its fine silvery-grey foliage and masses of bright yellow pom-pom flowers. This fast-growing tree produces fragrant blooms in late winter to early spring, creating strong seasonal colour. The soft, fern-like leaves add texture and contrast in the landscape. Acacia grows best in full sun with well-drained soil and tolerates dry conditions once established. Suitable for many New Zealand gardens in mild climates, it is commonly used for shelter, screening and feature planting.
