Allium cepa ‘Yellow Sweet Spanish’, commonly known as Yellow Sweet Spanish Onion, is a popular heirloom variety grown for its large golden-brown bulbs and mild, sweet flavour. This long-day onion produces firm, globe-shaped bulbs that are excellent for fresh use, cooking and storage. The plants develop strong blue-green foliage and perform best in cool growing conditions before maturing in summer.
Onions grow best in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil and consistent moisture during bulb development.
