Revelation flax lily (Dianella revoluta ‘DRG04’ REVELATION) is an evergreen perennial forming a dense clump of upright, blue-green, strap-like leaves. Small blue flowers with yellow centres rise above the foliage during spring, usually from October to November, and may be followed by glossy dark-blue berries.
Growing approximately 50 cm tall and wide, Revelation suits mass planting, borders, foliage gardens, roadsides, containers and erosion-control projects. Plant in full sun or partial shade in reasonably fertile soil with good drainage. It tolerates clay, sandy soil, periodic wet conditions, drought and frost once established. Water regularly for the first two to three months. Older plants can be cut back to approximately 15 cm to refresh the foliage.
Native origin: Cultivar selected in New South Wales, Australia — not native to New Zealand
