Mauve hebe (Hebe diosmifolia ‘Mauve’; accepted species name Veronica diosmifolia) is a compact evergreen perennial shrub with fine, narrow green leaves and a neat, bushy habit. Soft mauve to lilac flower spikes appear mainly from spring through summer, attracting bees and other pollinating insects.
Growing approximately 60–80 cm tall and 80–100 cm wide, it suits native gardens, low borders, rockeries, coastal planting and containers. Plant in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil. Water regularly while establishing; mature plants tolerate moderate drought, wind, coastal conditions and light frost. Avoid waterlogged ground and protect young plants from severe frost. Lightly trim after flowering to maintain dense growth.
