Coral Candy mānuka (Leptospermum scoparium ‘Coral Candy’) is a dense evergreen shrub with fine, aromatic green foliage and upright branching. Double flowers striped in candy-pink and red create a distinctive display from late winter through spring, with occasional later flushes.

Growing approximately 2 m tall and 1 m wide, ‘Coral Candy’ suits informal hedges, screening, mixed native borders and feature planting. Grow in full sun in moist but well-drained soil, avoiding waterlogged sites. Water regularly while establishing. Mature plants tolerate wind, coastal exposure and moderate dry periods. Lightly trim after flowering to encourage bushy growth, avoiding hard pruning into old bare wood.

Native origin: Species indigenous to New Zealand and southeastern Australia; ‘Coral Candy’ is a cultivated selection
Plant type: Evergreen perennial shrub
Companion Plants: Koromiko, coprosma, corokia, libertia and native carex.

Key difference: Striped double flowers in candy-pink and red. Dense evergreen mānuka for hedging, screening and sunny feature planting.
