Leptospermum Scoparium 'Crimson Glory'

Crimson Glory mānuka (Leptospermum scoparium ‘Crimson Glory’) is an upright evergreen shrub with fine, aromatic dark green foliage that may develop bronze tones in cooler weather. Masses of small, double crimson-red flowers cover the branches during spring and early summer, attracting bees and other pollinators.

Growing approximately 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide, it suits feature planting, mixed native borders, informal hedges and screening. Plant in full sun in free-draining soil, avoiding persistently wet ground. Water regularly while establishing; mature plants tolerate wind, coastal exposure and moderate drought. Lightly prune younger growth after flowering to maintain density, as older bare wood may not regenerate readily.

Native origin: Species indigenous to New Zealand and southeastern Australia; cultivar origin is not reliably documented
Plant type: Evergreen perennial shrub
Companion Plants: Koromiko, coprosma, corokia, libertia and native carex.

Key difference: Profuse double flowers in deep crimson-red. Upright evergreen mānuka ideal for hedging, screening and coastal gardens.
