Leek - Super premium Variety
Allium ampeloprasum var.porrum
This great tasting vegetable is grown from the most permium seed. ‘Super Premium’ variety Leek is a commercial premium variety grown for its thick white stems and mild onion flavour. These more established plants are ready for winter growing and produce strong upright growth with blue-green foliage. Leeks grow best in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil and regular moisture during active growth.
- Produces leeks 15cm tall and 5cm wide
- Plant in well drained soil in full sun
- Dig a small trench and plant seedlings 10cms apart in rows
- Fill in trench with soil to top of stems, leaving leaves at top exposed
- Keep soil moist but not water-logged
- Regularly fold in the soil around the stems
- Harvest in 3 to 4 months
