Primula flowers from autumn through to spring. It's good for planting in borders, bedding, edging, woodland and pots.
Primulas love cooler temperatures. New Zealand's autumn-winter season provides the cool, moist environment they love—ideal for establishing strong roots before spring.
Primulas bloom early. They will bloom as soon as the sun gets a bit warmer in your region. North Island temperatures are milder so primula seedlings might even flower in winter adding a burst of colour in your garden.
Low Maintenance Plants
Once established, primulas are relatively hardy and low-maintenance—perfect. They can grow in shade, too.
