Phormium tenax
A large flax forming sturdy clumps of broad, vivid green leaves. Well-suited for weaving and fibre use. Visually striking, it provides effective low shelter and erosion control. Summer nectar attracts pollinators and birds. Extremely hardy; grows well in a wide range of conditions, from wetlands to coastal areas.
