Snowball mophead hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Snowball’) is a compact deciduous shrub with fresh green foliage and rounded heads of vivid white flowers. It flowers freely from summer into autumn, providing a clean, bright display and long-lasting blooms for indoor arrangements.
Growing approximately 60 cm tall and wide, ‘Snowball’ is ideal for containers, courtyards, smaller gardens and the front of shaded borders. Plant in partial shade or gentle morning sun, in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Water regularly through summer, mulch to retain moisture and apply a slow-release fertiliser in spring. Prune lightly after flowering, avoiding hard pruning of healthy stems carrying next season’s buds.
