Seascape mat rush (Lomandra confertifolia subsp. rubiginosa ‘Seascape’)
A graceful, clump-forming perennial with very fine, blue-grey leaves that arch and weep softly towards the ground. Small, lightly scented yellow flowers appear among the foliage during spring and summer.
Growing approximately 50–70 cm tall and around 50 cm wide, it is ideal for coastal gardens, rockeries, pathway edging, containers and mass planting. Plant in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil, avoiding persistently waterlogged sites. Water regularly while establishing; mature plants tolerate drought, frost, wind and coastal exposure. Remove spent flower stems and untidy foliage as required.
Native origin: Parent subspecies native to eastern New South Wales, Australia—not native to New Zealand

Companion Plants: New Zealand flaxes, hebes, libertias, compact coprosmas and carex.
Key difference: Fine blue-grey foliage with graceful weeping form. Hardy evergreen accent for coastal gardens, borders, containers and mass planting.
