Pepe dwarf New Zealand flax (Phormium ‘Pepe’)
A compact evergreen flax forming a tidy mound of fine, fresh-green leaves. Its narrow, softly arching foliage provides gentle movement and year-round texture without the height or bulk of larger flax varieties.
Growing approximately 40–60 cm tall and up to 60 cm wide, ‘Pepe’ suits borders, pathway edging, rockeries, coastal gardens, mass planting and containers. Plant in full sun or partial shade in fertile, free-draining soil. Water regularly while establishing and during prolonged dry periods. Once established, it tolerates wind, light frost and coastal conditions. Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring and remove old or damaged leaves at their base.
Native origin: Cultivar derived from New Zealand-native Phormium species

Companion Plants: Libertia, rengarenga lily, dwarf hebe, coprosma ‘Hawera’ and creeping thyme.
