Mikoikoi / New Zealand iris (Libertia grandiflora)
A hardy, clump-forming native perennial with upright, sword-like green leaves that provide year-round structure. Tall stems carry large, pure-white, iris-like flowers in spring, followed by attractive orange seed capsules.
Growing approximately 60–90 cm tall and 50–90 cm wide, it is ideal for borders, mass planting, native gardens, coastal landscapes and containers. Plant in full sun for the best flowering or partial shade, in moist but well-drained soil. It tolerates wind, coastal exposure, frost and short dry periods once established, but dislikes permanently waterlogged ground. Remove spent flower stems and divide older clumps when they become crowded.
