Wiri Cloud hebe or shrubby veronica (Hebe ‘Wiri Cloud’, accepted genus Veronica) is a compact evergreen perennial shrub with a neat, rounded habit and small, glossy green leaves. Abundant shell-pink flowers appear in early summer, gradually fading to paler pink and attracting bees and other pollinating insects.
Growing approximately 40–60 cm tall and wide, ‘Wiri Cloud’ suits borders, low hedges, mass planting, coastal gardens and containers. Grow in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained soil. Water regularly while establishing; once settled, it tolerates dry periods, coastal exposure and frost. Lightly trim after flowering to maintain its compact shape.
Native origin: New Zealand-bred garden cultivar derived from native hebe parentage; not naturally occurring
