Bombshell panicled hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata ‘Bombshell’) is a compact deciduous shrub with a tidy, rounded habit. Abundant flower clusters open pale green, mature to white and develop soft pink tones as they age, providing colour from summer into autumn.
Growing approximately 90–120 cm tall and wide, it suits containers, small gardens, borders and low informal hedges. Plant in full sun or partial shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Mulch and water regularly during dry weather. Because it flowers on new growth, it can be pruned in late winter to maintain a compact shape.
Native origin: Cultivar discovered in Boskoop, Netherlands; species native to East Asia—not native to New Zealand
