This is a dark green and fast growing variety of perpetual spinach. It is a member of the beet family and also goes by the name 'leaf beet'. It tastes similar to real spinach, although it's milder and slightly bitter. Many customers grow it as 'baby spinach' - like the kind purchased in the supermarket bags. If you want baby spinach leaves, just pick it while it's young - it will keep growing back.
