Pittosporum - Tenuifolium
Kōhūhū
Also known as black matipo, Pittosporum tenufolium is a small tree or compact shrub. It is extremely adaptable and quick-growing. It has almost black bark, dark red, fragrant flowers and leaves that vary in size and colour. It looks great as a hedge and can be trimmed and maintained at any height.

- Grows to a height of 3m after 5 years and 6m when mature
- Dig the hole for the plant about 1/3 deeper than needed
- Place plant in hole and add compost
- Compost will improve drainage and give the roots something soft to grow into
