CHIVES G
Chives - Garlic
Allium tuberosum
Garlic chives can be used in salads, sandwiches, soups and as a garnish. Garlic chives are sometimes known as Chinese chives and have slightly, broader, flatter leaves than regular chives and - as you would expect from the name - have a soft garlic flavour.
- Plant chives 10cm deep, 5cm apart
- Grow in a corner or spot of soil that you don't usually garden in (they will go dormant and can be accidentally planted over if they're not visible)
- Keep the soil moist
