Broccoli - Italian Precoce
Brassica oleracea, Italica group
Unlike the regular variety, romanesco broccoli forms highly decorative light green clusters of heads that resemble sea coral. The unusual tip of each spear is conical rather than round. But the taste is true broccoli at its very best.
- Rotate brassica (cauli, broccoli, kale etc) crops
- Add compost and lime to prevent club root
- Add general fertiliser
- Plant 35 to 50cm apart
- Keep moist always
- Cut central head when mature, side shoots will grow new heads
- Silverbeet
- Cauliflower
- Beetroot
- Pak choi
- Spring onions
