Pohutukawa

This well-known ‘New Zealand Christmas Tree’ produces a brilliant display of red flowers made up of a mass of stamens. It flowers from November to January - New Zealand's Christmas season. This tree is considered culturally significant.

Height: Up to 25 meters tall (though on average, height at maturity is at 10m)
Appearance: Red flowers, dark green leaves, aerial roots, multiple trunks and branches

Habitat: They survive along coastal environments. Their roots help in preventing soil erosion.
