White sage is commonly used for smudging which is a process of cleansing places from negative energies. This sacred ritual is often used in ceremonies to seek protection, prosperity and cleansing. This variety of sage is not usually used for cooking but you can season food with the leaves
- Prune leaves and branches back after flowering to encourage growth

Likes sandy and well-drained soil and lots of sun – too much shade can cause mildew

Plant near a wall or rock

Cut wand (Woody stem) and hang upside down to prevent rot once dried you can form a smudge stick
