Common Name: Limequat
Citrus ‘Limequat’
Limequat is a unique citrus hybrid between a lime and kumquat, producing small oval fruit with a tangy lime flavour and edible sweet skin. The fruit can be eaten whole or used to add a sharp citrus note to drinks, desserts, marinades and preserves. Limequat trees are compact, productive and well suited to pots, patios or sunny garden positions. They prefer full sun and well-drained soil, and once established are reliable producers of fruit through the cooler months. With its ornamental glossy foliage and bright fruit, Limequat is both a decorative and productive addition to home citrus collections.
Companion plants: Strawberries, nasturtiums, marigolds, lavender, and thyme help attract beneficial insects and support healthy citrus growth.
