Camellia ‘High Fragrance’ is an evergreen flowering shrub valued for its fragrant soft pink semi-double blooms and glossy dark green foliage. This camellia flowers from late winter into early spring, producing layered blossoms with visible golden stamens. The scented flowers are unusual among camellias and add seasonal colour and fragrance to the garden. Camellias grow best in partial shade with well-drained, slightly acidic soil and shelter from strong wind. Suitable for many New Zealand gardens, Camellia ‘High Fragrance’ is commonly planted as a feature shrub, hedge or near paths where the fragrance can be appreciated.
