Dianthus Pink Feather is a compact perennial grown for its finely fringed pink flowers and clove-like fragrance. This low-growing plant forms neat mounds of grey-green foliage topped with soft pink blooms during spring and summer. The feathered petals give the flowers a delicate, textured appearance that works well in borders, rock gardens and containers. Dianthus prefers full sun and well-drained soil and performs best in open garden positions with good air circulation. Suitable for many New Zealand gardens, it is commonly used for edging, cottage gardens and small garden spaces where long flowering colour is desired.
