Dietes bicolor is an evergreen perennial known for its pale yellow iris-like flowers marked with brown and yellow centres. This clump-forming plant produces upright, strap-like green leaves and repeated flushes of flowers through spring and summer. Each flower lasts only a day, but plants bloom continuously over a long period. Dietes bicolor is hardy and tolerant of a range of conditions, growing well in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil. Suitable for many New Zealand gardens, it is commonly used for borders, mass planting, coastal gardens and low-maintenance landscapes.
