Bougainvillea glabra ‘Magnifica Traillii’ is a vigorous evergreen climber known for its bright magenta-purple bracts and trailing growth habit. This bougainvillea produces masses of papery colourful bracts surrounding small white flowers through the warmer months. The vibrant colour contrasts with the plant’s green foliage, creating strong visual impact in the garden. Bougainvillea grows best in full sun with well-drained soil and performs well in warm, sheltered positions with protection from frost. In New Zealand gardens it is commonly used on fences, pergolas, walls and large containers where its cascading growth can be displayed.
