Aquilegia ‘Crimson’ is a perennial flowering plant grown for its deep crimson red nodding flowers and delicate fern-like foliage. This aquilegia produces distinctive spurred blooms during late spring and early summer, adding vertical interest to garden beds. The flowers attract bees and other pollinators and contrast well with the soft green leaves. Aquilegia grows best in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil and performs well in cottage gardens and mixed borders. Suitable for many New Zealand gardens, it is commonly used for borders, woodland-style plantings and seasonal colour displays.
