Aquilegia ‘Star White’ is a perennial flowering plant grown for its clear white star-shaped flowers and delicate fern-like foliage. This columbine produces upright blooms during late spring and early summer, adding light colour to garden beds and borders. Unlike traditional spurred aquilegias, the flowers have a more open star-shaped form. The blooms rise above soft green leaves and attract bees and other pollinators. Aquilegia grows best in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil and suits cottage gardens and mixed borders. Suitable for many New Zealand gardens, it is commonly used for borders, woodland-style plantings and seasonal displays.
Key difference: Star-shaped white flowers without long spurs.
