Green mondo grass (Ophiopogon planiscapus)
An evergreen, clump-forming perennial with narrow, arching, deep green leaves that create soft, tidy mounds. Small, bell-shaped flowers in pale lilac to white appear during summer, followed by ornamental dark blue to near-black berries through autumn and winter.
Growing approximately 30 cm tall and wide, it spreads gradually by short underground stems. It is ideal for pathway edging, ground cover, planting between pavers and underplanting trees or shrubs. Plant in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Water regularly while establishing and during extended dry periods. Remove old or damaged leaves when needed to keep the clumps tidy.
