This variety of carnation has a flecked pattern and flowers from spring to autumn. It's good as a bedding plant and cut flower.
Dianthus caryophyllus ‘Picotee Mix’, commonly known as Carnation, is a flowering perennial grown for its fragrant, ruffled blooms with contrasting picotee-edged petals. This variety produces large double flowers in a mix of colours through spring and summer, making an excellent display in gardens and as cut flowers. The blooms rise above slender grey-green foliage and attract bees and other pollinators. Carnations grow best in full sun with well-drained soil and benefit from regular deadheading to encourage continuous flowering. Suitable for many New Zealand gardens, they are commonly used for borders, cottage gardens, containers and cut flower production.
Key difference: Fragrant double flowers with contrasting picotee edges.
