Te Puna rengarenga lily (Arthropodium cirratum ‘Te Puna’) is a compact evergreen perennial selected from plants growing near Ōmokoroa in the Bay of Plenty. It forms a clump of narrow, softly arching green leaves. Slender stems carry delicate, star-shaped white flowers with curled purple and yellow stamens during late spring.
‘Te Puna’ suits shaded borders, underplanting, containers and smaller native gardens. Grow in partial shade or dry shade in fertile, well-drained soil. Water regularly while establishing, then during extended dry periods. Remove old foliage and spent flower stems to keep the clump tidy. It generally reaches 50–60 cm tall and around 40 cm wide.
Native origin: New Zealand — Bay of Plenty selection of an endemic species
