Arctic Frost mat rush (Lomandra longifolia ‘Arctic Frost’)
A hardy, evergreen perennial forming a dense, fountain-shaped clump of arching grey-green leaves striped and edged with white. Small, lightly scented cream-yellow flowers may appear among the foliage during spring and summer.
Growing approximately 80 cm tall and wide, it provides year-round colour and texture in borders, mass plantings, coastal gardens and large containers. Plant in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil. Water regularly while establishing; once settled, it tolerates drought, heat, wind and moderate frost. Remove old leaves as needed and cut back mature clumps occasionally to encourage fresh growth.
Native origin: Species native to eastern Australia—not native to New Zealand
