Little Con mat rush (Lomandra confertifolia ‘Little Con’)
A compact, clump-forming perennial with fine, bright green leaves that create a neat, softly rounded mound. Small cream-yellow flower spikes appear within or just above the foliage during spring and early summer.
Growing approximately 30 cm tall and wide, it is well suited to pathway edging, rock gardens, containers, mass planting and low-maintenance landscaping. Plant in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil, avoiding sites that remain waterlogged. Water regularly while establishing; mature plants tolerate dry periods, wind, coastal exposure and moderate frost. Old foliage can be trimmed back in early spring to refresh the clump.
Native origin: Species native to eastern Australia—not native to New Zealand
