Tanika mat rush (Lomandra longifolia ‘Tanika’)
A hardy, clump-forming perennial with fine, deep green leaves that arch gracefully from a dense central crown. Lightly scented, creamy-yellow flower spikes appear among the foliage during spring and early summer.
Growing approximately 50–70 cm tall and around 60 cm wide, it is ideal for borders, banks, pathway edging, containers and mass planting. Plant in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil, avoiding sites that remain waterlogged. Water regularly while establishing; mature plants tolerate drought, frost, wind and coastal exposure. Remove tired foliage as required or lightly trim established clumps in early spring.
Native origin: Species native to eastern and southeastern Australia—not native to New Zealand

Companion Plants: Hebes, libertias, New Zealand flaxes, compact coprosmas and carex.
