Obsession™ heavenly bamboo (Nandina domestica ‘Seika’)
A compact evergreen shrub grown for its colourful, finely divided foliage. New leaves emerge bright red from spring through autumn before maturing to deep green, with rich red tones returning during cooler weather. Small white flowers may appear in summer, but this cultivar does not produce berries.
Growing approximately 60–80 cm tall and wide, it suits borders, low hedges, containers, rock gardens and mass planting. Plant in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained soil; the strongest foliage colour develops in good light. Water regularly while establishing and during extended dry periods. Apply a slow-release fertiliser in spring and remove old or damaged stems after winter.
