Sisyrinchium bellum is a clump-forming perennial grown for its star-shaped blue to violet flowers and grass-like foliage. This plant produces upright stems carrying small blooms with yellow centres during spring and early summer. The flowers rise above narrow green leaves, adding light colour and movement to garden beds. Sisyrinchium grows best in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil and tolerates a range of garden conditions. Suitable for many New Zealand gardens, it is commonly used for borders, rock gardens and naturalistic plantings.
