Paradise Hilda camellia (Camellia sasanqua ‘Paradise Hilda’) is an evergreen perennial shrub with dense, upright growth and glossy dark-green foliage. It produces abundant, medium-sized, semi-double mid-pink flowers over a long period from autumn into early winter.
Growing approximately 2–3 m tall and 1.5–2 m wide, ‘Paradise Hilda’ suits hedging, screening, mixed borders, courtyards and large containers. Plant in full sun or partial shade, preferably sheltered from harsh afternoon sun and strong winds. It prefers humus-rich, slightly acidic, well-drained soil. Water regularly while establishing and through dry summer weather, when flower buds are developing. Mulch to retain moisture and prune lightly after flowering if required.
