Regal Supreme plantain lily (Hosta ‘Regal Supreme’) is a large deciduous, clump-forming perennial with an upright, vase-shaped habit. Its broad, frosty blue-green leaves have wide creamy-yellow margins that mature towards creamy white. Tall stems carry pale lavender to purple, bell-shaped flowers during summer.
Growing approximately 70 cm tall and 1 m wide, with flower stems reaching about 1.4 m, ‘Regal Supreme’ suits spacious shaded borders, woodland gardens and specimen planting. Grow in partial or dappled shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Gentle morning sun can enhance the variegation, but protect it from harsh afternoon sun and drying winds. Water during dry periods and monitor young foliage for slugs and snails.
