Bridal Bouquet bigleaf or mophead hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Bridal Bouquet’) is a deciduous perennial shrub with a rounded habit and broad green leaves. Large mophead flowers emerge lime-green to cream before maturing to cream-white during summer and autumn. Older blooms may develop a soft pink blush and are suitable for fresh or dried floral arrangements.
Growing approximately 1.2–1.5 m tall and wide, ‘Bridal Bouquet’ suits shaded borders, cottage gardens, informal hedges and specimen planting. Grow in partial shade or gentle morning sun in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Water regularly during dry weather and mulch to retain moisture. Shelter from strong winds and harsh afternoon sun. Prune lightly after flowering, removing dead stems and some older growth without cutting away healthy flower buds.
